An exciting opportunity exists for an experienced Field Service Technician to join a leading equipment rental provider based in Mount St John, Townsville. This role offers a mix of onsite and workshop-based work, with a strong focus on delivering high-quality service and maintenance support to customers.

About the Role:

You will be responsible for servicing, maintaining and repairing a diverse fleet of equipment across customer sites. This is a hands-on role suited to a proactive and self-motivated technician who enjoys problem-solving and working autonomously.

What’s on offer:

  • Start Date: Mid July
  • Hours: Monday to Friday, 7:00am – 3:30pm
  • Employment Type: Casual - temp to perm opportunity
  • Work across various customer sites as required, with the majority of work based locally in Townsville

Key Responsibilities:

  • Carry out mechanical inspections, servicing and maintenance of equipment in line with manufacturer and SHEQ requirements (including forklifts, telehandlers, lighting towers, scissor lifts, generators and access equipment)
  • Troubleshoot equipment issues to identify root cause of faults or failures
  • Repair equipment to restore full functionality
  • Accurately complete and submit all required paperwork on time
  • Conduct pre- and post-hire checks and report any damage to management to enable cost recovery
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with customers and suppliers
  • Perform ad-hoc duties aligned with your skills, qualifications and experience

About You:

  • Trade-qualified in Mechanical, Hydraulics, Fitting, and/or Auto Electrical
  • Current Driver’s Licence
  • Experience in the hire industry, including fleet servicing and maintenance (highly regarded)
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently on client sites
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills
  • Professional presentation and a strong attention to detail
  • Flexible, adaptable, and capable of multitasking
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work autonomously

Desirable:

  • High Risk Work Licence – Forklift (LF)
  • High Risk Work Licence – Elevated Work Platform (WP)
