Service Driver

Haynes are seeking a reliable and motivated Service Driver to join a growing team servicing the Newcastle & Hunter Valley region.

This is a hands-on role operating a pump truck, delivering, servicing and collecting portable toilets on scheduled runs. For the right candidate, there is strong potential for this role to transition into a full-time position.

What’s on Offer:

• Location: Working out of the Thornton branch, servicing the Newcastle & Hunter Valley region
• Roster: Monday to Friday
• Hours: 7:00am – 3:00pm (potential for overtime)
• Pay Rate: $42.00 per hour + penalties
• Employment Type: Casual (potential to transition to permanent for the right candidate)
• Immediate Start Available

About the Role:

Working autonomously, you will be responsible for:

• Operating a pump/vacuum truck across multiple customer sites
• Delivering, collecting and servicing portable toilets on scheduled routes
• Providing high-quality customer service on-site
• Performing daily pre-start vehicle and equipment inspections (including Hiab crane if applicable)
• Completing all required paperwork accurately and on time
• Loading/unloading units safely, ensuring compliance with load restraint procedures
• Carrying out minor repairs and maintenance on portable toilets
• Pumping, cleaning and restocking units to a high standard
• Disposing of waste at approved facilities
• Conducting site safety assessments (Take 5s / risk assessments)
• Maintaining vehicle cleanliness and basic upkeep
• Assisting with general yard duties when required

What we’re looking for:

• Current MR Truck Licence (essential)
• Previous truck driving experience
• High Risk Forklift Licence (LF)
• Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
• Strong communication skills (written & verbal)
• A proactive, self-motivated attitude with attention to detail
• Physically fit and able to pass a Drug & Alcohol screen

Desirable (but not essential)

• Experience in liquid waste management
• Experience operating pump trucks
• Experience using Hiab crane equipment
