Are you an experienced Spray Painter looking to join a professional, well equipped workshop where your skills and attention to detail are genuinely valued? We’re seeking a motivated tradesperson to join a busy manufacturing and fabrication environment based in Townsville, QLD.

About the Role:

In this hands on role, you’ll be responsible for preparing and applying paint and protective coatings to fabricated components, custom builds, and associated products. You’ll work closely with production teams to ensure a consistent, high‑quality finish across all items.

What’s on offer:

  • Location: Mount St John, Townsville
  • Hours: 6:00am – 4:00pm
  • Roster: Monday – Friday
  • Pay: $47/hr – $50/hr + penalties (dependent on experience and qualifications)
  • Type: Casual Temp to Perm

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare vehicle surfaces including sanding, cleaning, masking, priming and defect rectification
  • Spray painting and application of protective coatings to a variety of metal products
  • Accurate colour matching and paint mixing
  • Operate forklift (where licenced to operate) to move product as required
  • Quality checks to ensure finish consistency and durability
  • Safe operation and upkeep of spray guns, booths, ovens and related equipment
  • Maintaining clean, organised, and safe work areas
  • Interpreting job sheets and completing tasks within required timeframes

What we’re Looking for:

  • Manual driver’s licence (Required)
  • Trade qualification in Automotive Refinishing (Certificate III) – highly advantageous
  • Forklift Licence – highly advantageous
  • Experience in automotive, industrial, or manufacturing spray painting
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Understanding of WHS requirements, PPE use and safe handling of paints/solvents
