HMG Hardchrome is seeking applications from experienced and capable tradespeople for a permanent Leading Hand opportunity within our Production Department (Large Line).

About the Role

Reporting to the Production Supervisor, this permanent full-time role will see you provide day-to-day leadership and support across the Large Line section within our Production Department.

You will be responsible for coordinating workflow on the floor, supporting team members, maintaining safe work practices, and ensuring production targets and quality standards are achieved.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide hands-on leadership and direction to employees
  • Support daily production requirements to meet operational deadlines and output targets
  • Promote and maintain safe work practices and compliance with site procedures
  • Monitor workflow, job progress, and quality of work completed
  • Assist with problem-solving and escalating issues where required
  • Foster a positive, accountable, and productive team culture
  • Liaise effectively with the Supervisor and broader workshop team to ensure smooth operations

About You

  • To be successful in this role, you will ideally bring:
  • Trade background and relevant workshop/manufacturing experience
  • Demonstrated experience in a Leading Hand or similar leadership role
  • Strong knowledge of production processes and safe work practices
  • Ability to lead by example and support a high-performing team environment
  • Good communication skills and the ability to coordinate work effectively
  • Commitment to quality, accountability, and continuous improvement
