Haynes Group is seeking skilled and safety-focused Process Technicians for an immediate start with our reputable client in the Charters Towers region. This is a fantastic opportunity to work in a dynamic gold mining environment with strong potential for long-term employment.
Role Overview
- As a Process Technician, you’ll be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of gold processing equipment.
- Manage crushing, grinding, leaching, and recovery processes to achieve maximum gold yield while upholding strict safety and production standards.
- Operate loaders to efficiently feed the crushing plant and maintain a consistent material flow.
- Maintain the ROM tip head in a safe and serviceable condition.
- Conduct sorting of oversize ore and remove tramp steel to ensure plant safety and efficiency.
- Operate crushers via SCADA systems to optimise plant throughput and minimise downtime.
- Safely and independently operate crushers, conveyors, mills, cyclones, thickeners, and CIP circuits as part of the gold processing operation.
- Demonstrate a strong understanding of water and tailings management to ensure environmental compliance and process sustainability

Qualifications & Experience
- Proven experience in mineral processing, ideally within gold operations
- Hands-on knowledge of crushers, mills, CIL/CIP circuits, thickeners, and gravity recovery systems
- Understanding of water and tailings management
- Proficiency in DCS/SCADA or similar process control systems highly regarded
- Manual driver’s licence (essential)
- RII Front End Loader ticket
- Confined space and working at heights certification
- High-risk work licences (e.g., forklift, EWP) are advantageous
- Formal qualifications in mineral processing or related trades are preferred but not mandatory
