About the Role:

As an Apprentice Fitter Machinist, you’ll be based in Mackay – a thriving hub for mining and manufacturing – and work with an established company that’s poised for future growth.

At Austchrome, we specialize in a wide range of services, including chrome plating, hydraulic cylinder overhauls, machining, and thermal spray coatings. With state-of-the-art equipment and a highly experienced team, we are known for delivering the highest quality repairs and reclamation solutions.

Our facility is designed to handle the most complex reclamation projects, with large inspection bays, painting booths, and overhead cranes. We are looking for motivated individuals to join our team and grow through an apprenticeship in the engineering trade.

What We're Looking For:

• Practical skills: Be ready to demonstrate your abilities through a practical scenario at our workshop.
• Commitment: Willingness to complete a Certificate III in Engineering – Mechanical Trade.
• Learning mindset: Eagerness to develop trade skills and knowledge.
• Team player: Actively contribute to team initiatives and improvements.
• Safety-conscious: A strong focus on safety in all aspects of work.
• Experience: Prior work experience in an engineering field or the completion of certificate level course through school is highly regarded.
