The Role

We’re seeking skilled and experienced Hydraulic Fitters to join our day-shift workshop team in Pinkenba. This is a labour hire role through our recruitment partner Haynes People, with the potential to transition to a permanent HMG position for the right candidate.

You’ll work across hydraulic repair, assembly, and testing, with a focus on cylinders, pumps, motors, and valves. This position offers a 38-hour week plus overtime opportunities, with strong prospects for growth in a high-performing, safety-focused team environment.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Disassembling, repairing, and reassembling hydraulic cylinders, pumps, motors, and related components
  • Carrying out fault-finding, troubleshooting, and diagnostic work on hydraulic systems
  • Testing, flushing, and commissioning hydraulic components to ensure performance and safety standards are met
  • Interpreting technical drawings, schematics, and service manuals to complete accurate rebuilds and repairs
  • Machining, honing, and polishing of components as required to meet precise tolerances
  • Fabricating and fitting hydraulic hoses, seals, and fittings, ensuring leak-free and safe operation
  • Maintaining workshop housekeeping standards and adhering to HMG safety protocols at all times

What We’re Looking For

  • Trade-qualified Hydraulic Fitter / Mechanical Fitter with strong hydraulics experience (e.g., Certificate III, completed apprenticeship)
  • Proven background in hydraulic cylinder overhaul, repair, and testing
  • Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting ability with hydraulic circuits and fluid power systems
  • Competency with precision measuring tools, workshop equipment, and machining processes
  • Ability to interpret hydraulic schematics, drawings, and manuals
  • Reliable, team-focused, with strong communication skills and commitment to quality
  • Current driver’s licence and reliable transport
  • Able to pass pre-employment medical and drug & alcohol screening
