HAYNES People Services seeking Skilled Labourers for ongoing work with a valued client in Brisbane and surrounds.

About the Role

  • Support the civil construction team in the delivery of work packages / projects
  • Work in a team environment
  • Ensure the standard of work in the field is of high quality and in accordance with work practices and standards required by the Client, the Company and relevant service providers
  • Ensure that all tasks undertaken are performed in a manner consistent with WH&S policies and procedures of the company and the relevant state legislation
  • Undertake hazard identification & risk assessment on site as required to ensure a safe
  • working environment

Key Responsibilities include

  • Undertake labouring duties as directed
  • Operate demolition equipment (saws, jackhammers, drills) to cut and break up concrete or pavement
  • Mix, place, consolidate and finish concrete / mortar for structures, footpaths, driveways, kerb and channel
  • Install and remove temporary fencing, traffic barriers, safety fencing, silt fencing and other
  • safety / environmental controls
  • Operate dewatering equipment (trash pumps, submersible pumps, etc) to dewater trenches, pits and construction sites
  • Dig ditches or trenches, backfill excavations, and compact and level earth to grade specifications – using picks, crowbars, shovels, engine powered compaction equipment
  • Erect and disassemble shoring, braces, traffic barriers and other temporary structures
  • Install sewer, water and drainage pipes and fittings, conduits, culverts
  • Remove / demolish existing infrastructure – pipes, pits, manholes
  • Drive or operate various vehicles in the fleet
  • Load, unload building materials, plant and equipment, and distribute to appropriate locations
  • Provide assistance to other trades – operators, pipe layers, welders, etc

The successful applicant must have

  • HR / MR Drivers licence
  • OHS General Induction Card (White/Blue)
  • Immunisations (Tetanus, Hep A & B)
  • Experience in pipe laying
  • Work in a confined space certification (Desirable)
  • Work safely at heights (Desirable)
  • Traffic control / management certification (Desirable)
  • Apply first aid (Desirable)
  • Remove non friable asbestos (Desirable)
  • PE Pipe welding (E/F and / or Butt) (Desirable)
