Civil Supervisor

Haynes is currently seeking an experienced Civils Supervisor to join our growing civil operations team in Mackay. This full-time permanent position is ideal for a hands-on leader with strong technical skills who is ready to take ownership of site-based works across a wide range of regional civil infrastructure projects.

You’ll lead field crews and subcontractors on works including trenching, conduit installation, potholing, non-destructive digging (NDD), and reinstatement. The role involves a practical, boots-on-the-ground leadership style, with regular travel to regional project sites across Queensland.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Supervise and coordinate civil works across multiple sites

• Manage field crews and subcontractors to meet productivity, safety, and quality targets

• Conduct pre-starts, toolbox talks, and site-based risk assessments

• Oversee logistics, equipment allocation, and materials delivery

• Monitor project progress, resolve issues, and maintain site records

• Act as the main on-site contact for stakeholders and internal teams

• Support scheduling, labour forecasting, and planning of future works

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

• Minimum 5 years’ experience in civil construction with site supervision experience

• Proven background working on infrastructure or utility-based civil projects

• Strong leadership and communication skills with the ability to drive performance

• Ability to work independently and manage multiple regional sites

• Proficient in project tracking software (Assignar, Simpro, Excel or similar)

• White Card and Open Manual Driver’s Licence (essential)

• Relevant civil construction qualifications (desirable)
