Civil Supervisor

Haynes is actively seeking an experienced and motivated Civil Supervisor to join our client’s dynamic team in Townsville, QLD. As the Civil Supervisor, you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of civil construction works on-site, ensuring work is completed to quality standards, within timelines and safety regulations. This is a fantastic opportunity to work with a reputable civil contractor on a variety of local infrastructure and construction projects.

Position Details:

• Monday to Friday with some weekend work
• 38 hours per week
• Casual ongoing position
• Competitive annual salary
• Local work in Townsville QLD

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and supervise site-based civil works (earthworks, roads, drainage, structures, utilities).
• Manage day-to-day activities of plant operators, labourers, and subcontractors.
• Enforce compliance with WHS legislation, site rules, and Safe Work Method Statements (SWMS).
• Conduct pre-start meetings, toolbox talks, and risk assessments.
• Work closely with engineers and surveyors to confirm set-out and finished levels.
• Promote a positive safety and performance culture among the workforce.

The successful candidates, must have:

• Certificate IV or Diploma in Civil Construction Supervision (or equivalent experience)
• 5+ years experience in civil construction, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role
• Current C Class licence and reliable transport
• Construction White Card
• Sound knowledge of earthworks, drainage, roads, pavements, services, and structures
• Previous experience working with Department of Transport and Main roads (highly regarded)
• Ability to pass pre-employment inlcuding Drug/Alcohol screen
