Plant Operator

We are seeking a skilled and safety-conscious Plant Operator to support the delivery of infrastructure projects across Mackay Greater Region, QLD. You will be responsible for operating heavy machinery and equipment to assist with civil construction tasks, including roadworks, drainage, earthworks, and site preparation.

Position Details:

• 4-day week - Monday to Thursday
• Immediate start available
• 6:00am to 4:30pm (Monday to Wednesday)
• 6:00am to 2:30pm (Thursday)
• 3-month position with potential for extension
• Competitive hourly rate + camp allowance

Key Responsibilities:

• Operate plant equipment such as excavators, rollers, graders, loaders, or backhoes
• Perform daily pre-start checks and routine maintenance
• Support civil construction activities, including trenching, backfilling, compacting, and leveling
• Work closely with supervisors and ground crews to ensure safe, efficient operations
• Adhere to all workplace health and safety regulations and procedures

The successful candidate, must have:

• 12 months' proven experience operating heavy machinery in civil or infrastructure projects
• Relevant certification for operation of plant and equipment tickets/licenses - Excavator, Roller, Grader, Loader, Dozer, Compactor, Skid Steer
• Grader ticket (highly regarded)
• Minimum HR Class licence and reliable transport
• Construction White Card
• Strong commitment to safety and teamwork
• Ability to follow instructions and work under minimal supervision
• Able to pass pre-employment medical including drug/alcohol screen
