Haynes is currently seeking a Leading Hand & Serviceman (Light Vehicle Mechanics/Diesel Mechanic/Heavy Diesel Mechanic/Servicemen) to join one of our valued clients for multiple sites in the Bowen Basin, QLD.

Serviceperson – LV Mechanic/Serviceman

Location: Bowen Basin – Northern & Southern Mine Sites

We are currently recruiting for:

• 2 roles at the northern end of the Bowen Basin (servicing multiple sites)
• 2 roles at the southern end (servicing multiple sites)

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform scheduled servicing, maintenance, and refuelling of ancillary equipment
• Identify and rectify mechanical faults during inspections
• Work safely and efficiently to high standards
• Maintain strong customer service and ensure satisfaction across sites
• Collaborate with internal teams in a constructive and professional manner
• Work autonomously with attention to detail and time management

Essential Requirements:

• Trade Qualification – Mechanical (General)
• Current Driver’s Licence
• Standard 11
• Coal Board Medical
• Ability to DIDO (preferred) or FIFO at own cost
• Availability for a 7/7 roster (Thursday to Wednesday)

Desirable Qualifications/Experience:

• Site-based mechanical servicing experience
• Site inductions – e.g., Blackwater
• Experience working on LED Lighting Towers

Additional Information:

• Roster: 7 on / 7 off (Thursday to Wednesday)
• Hours: 6am–6pm
• All PPE supplied by SCIG
• Camp accommodation provided
• Flat rate paid for all hours worked (based on experience)
• Paid lunch breaks
• Tool allowance included

Leading Hand – Field Service Team

Location: Mackay-based (Field Service across Bowen Basin)
Work Type: Casual | Temp to Perm Opportunity

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and provide on-the-job training to the Field Service team
• Make sound decisions in dynamic environments ensuring safety and client satisfaction
• Maintain high standards of mechanical servicing and fault resolution
• Build strong working relationships with internal teams and external clients
• Drive efficiency, safety, and service excellence across multiple sites

Essential Requirements:

• Trade Qualification – Mechanical (General)
• Current Driver’s Licence
• S1, S2, S3 Supervisor Qualification
• Standard 11
• Coal Board Medical
• Previous experience leading a field team or similar supervisory role
• Availability for a 7/7 roster (Thursday to Wednesday)

Desirable Qualifications/Experience:

• Site-based mechanical experience
• Site inductions for various Bowen Basin locations
• Familiarity with LED Lighting Towers
