Role Overview

We seek a highly motivated individual to lead a small team of HSEQ experts. In this multifaceted role, you will:

  • Spearhead the development and implementation of Health, Safety, Environment, and Quality management systems while ensuring compliance with internal and external audit programs.
  • Serve as the subject matter expert on management systems, guiding others in developing and executing key HST strategic programs in collaboration with the Operations Manager and HST Manager.
  • Coach and mentor Operations Managers, Supervisors, Leading Hands, and HSE Advisors in safety, compliance, training, and auditing systems.
  • Identify and communicate emerging issues to Operations Managers, Supervisors, and the HSEQT Manager.
  • Engage in site-based activities, including meetings, Take5's, Safe Act Observations, JSA's, training, and inspections.
  • Facilitate and participate in comprehensive investigations (ICAM or similar) through to resolution.
  • Promote employee wellness through various health initiatives.

About You

The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications and experience:

  • Certificate IV in Health and Safety
  • 5 to 7 years of experience in a similar role within a large, diverse organization
  • Strong relationship-building skills with internal and external stakeholders
  • Excellent computer proficiency
  • Familiarity with HSE computer systems (such as Rapid, ASNA, SharePoint, Noggin, INX)
  • Experience maintaining a Quality - 9001 quality system
  • Keen attention to detail with the ability to effectively plan and meet deadlines while managing competing priorities
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
