About the role

This role requires a highly motived individual to provide leadership to a small team of HSEQ experts.

In this diverse role, you will:

  • Lead the development and implementation of Health Safety Environment and Quality management systems whilst maintaining compliance to internal / external audit programs
  • The role will act as the subject matter expert on management systems as well as the ability to lead others in developing and implementing key HST strategic programs in partnership with site Operations Manager and HST Manager.
  • Coach and mentor Operations Managers / Supervisors /Leading Hands and other HSE Advisors in the development and implementation of safety, compliance, training, and auditing systems
  • Identify emerging issues and communicate them to Operations Managers / Supervisors and HSEQT Manager.
  • Participate in site-based activities when on site including meetings, Take5's, Safe Act Observation, JSA's, training and inspections.
  • Facilitate/participate Comprehensive Investigations (ICAM or other) through to completion.
  • Contribute to the physical and mental health of employees through wellness initiatives

About You:

The successful candidate will bring the following skills and experience to the role:

  • Certificate IV in Health and Safety
  • Minimum 5 – 7 years of experience in a similar role within a large and diverse organization
  • Ability to build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  • Excellent computer skills
  • Exposure to HSE computer systems (Rapid, ASNA, SharePoint, Noggin, INX etc)
  • Ability to maintain Quality - 9001 quality system
  • High attention to detail and ability to plan effectively and work to deadlines while managing conflicting priorities
  • Current drivers licence and reliable transport
