HAYNES have an exciting opportunity for a Licenced Electrician to join the team of one of our Clients on a Solar Farm near Chinchilla QLD.
Position Overview:
- To regularly update as necessary the CMMS, scheduled maintenance checklist.
- To support and ensure the timely completion of activities during all equipment and plant maintenance within a reasonable time to minimize the equipment/plant down time.
- Support and follow the instruction of the plant Manager
- To deal with all the external and Internal agencies for smooth O&M activities.
- To provide support with the plant and substation monitoring.
- To maintain good record keeping of all events, breakdowns, RCA and preventive maintenance.
- Coordination with Client, Substation, Power, and communication control center, AEMO, Environmental, local authorities, safety, fire department for smooth operation during the entire O&M period.
- To accept and manage the necessary approval for any scheduled, unscheduled maintenance.
- To make sure that daily logbooks are filled in accurately.
- To conduct a good visual inspection of the plant during site technician rounds.
Job Details:
- Monday to Friday
- 38 hours per week (10/4 roster preferred)
- Permanent ongoing position
- Immediate start – 2/12/2024

The successful candidate, must have:
- Hold a current relevant Australian Electrical Licence.
- HV Switching certification with HV field experience.
- First Aid certificate
- LVR / CPR certificate
- Proven electrical field experience with a minimum of 1 year in solar plant.
- Knowledge and experience ensuring contractual guarantees and obligations are met.
- Strong working knowledge of CMMS systems, SCADA, Comms (modbus), inverters, power conservation stations, mechanical structures, tracker systems, PV Array understanding and HV/MV switchyards.
- Ability to read and understand drawings, diagrams, equipment manuals and specifications.
- Excellent attention to detail and strong communication and problem-solving skills.
- Able to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Must be willing to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Ability to pass pre-employment including Drug/Alcohol screen.
- Good knowledge of local electrical guidelines and Australian Standards as well as AC and DC electrical field equipment.
